Segovia-Guiomar station from Segovia
Segovia-Guiomar high-speed station is on the outskirts, several kilometres from the aqueduct, on the Madrid–Valladolid line. It reaches Chamartín very quickly, but getting there from a village in the province, or with suitcases early in the morning, is another matter.

- Within the province almost everything converges on the city of Segovia: the hospital, Guiomar station and public offices. Public transport links the capital well with Madrid but the villages poorly with each other, and from the north-east or the Tierra de Pinares getting to the hospital or catching an early train is hard without a car.
When demand peaks
- Winter in the mountains (December to March): With snow, the Navacerrada pass and the Alto del León may require chains or close, and the AP-6 tunnels are usually the safest way through to Madrid. Trips to Barajas and Guiomar are best planned with extra margin.
