The city of Segovia holds the hospital, the high-speed station, the provincial offices and an old town of narrow streets perched above the Eresma and Clamores rivers. From Segovia to Madrid and Barajas

From the city, Madrid is reached on the AP-61 toll road to San Rafael, where it joins the AP-6 and the Guadarrama tunnel, then the A-6 into Madrid at Moncloa or the M-40. For Barajas the route continues on the M-40 or M-50 without going into the centre; the alternative, the high-speed train from Guiomar to Chamartín, still leaves a connection to the airport.
