VTC fleets in Segovia: Guiomar, the AP-6, Barajas and the day trips from Madrid, how jobs are shared among the cars and how the fleet gets paid
Segovia is the Castilla y León province closest to Madrid: the capital, La Granja and El Espinar leave by the AP-61 and the AP-6 tunnel, the north-east of Riaza and Sepúlveda goes down the A-1 to Barajas, and Cuéllar looks to Valladolid along the A-601. For a partner fleet demand runs both ways: residents towards Barajas, Chamartín and Guiomar, on the edge of the city, and visitors arriving from Madrid for a day at the aqueduct or La Granja who all return in the late afternoon. Each job enters the portal with its amount, is assigned to a car and the customer pays by card: the money reaches the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the published commission separated. Segovia to Barajas is 108 km; Cuéllar to Guiomar, 68 km.

Where should the cars be in a province that works in both directions?
In the capital and in the mountains. Segovia holds Guiomar station, on the Madrid–Valladolid high-speed line and several kilometres from the aqueduct, the General Hospital on the south-west side of the city, the provincial offices and an old town where a car can hardly stop; from there come the transfers to Barajas along the AP-61 and the AP-6 and the pickups of people who come from Madrid for the day. El Espinar and San Rafael have the AP-6 on their doorstep and many Madrid second homes, with residents who work in Madrid or fly from there, and La Granja adds the visits to the palace and gardens. A car in the mountains keeps every job towards Madrid from starting with half an hour of empty road from the capital.
The figures are the engine's and the ones the customer sees: Segovia to Barajas, 108 km, from 148,77 €; El Espinar to Barajas, 83 km; Riaza to Barajas along the A-1, 108 km; Cuéllar to Guiomar, 68 km and about 49 min. The north-east and the Tierra de Pinares are another matter: small villages, weekend rural tourism and appointments at the General Hospital, with a car that almost always comes back empty. Cuéllar, moreover, works towards Valladolid, its airport and the A-601 as much as towards Segovia. The portal shows what arrives from each area and the fleet decides where it parks.
How does a job enter the portal, and how is it shared among the fleet's cars?
At a fixed price and with notice. The customer books on the website, by phone or from a company's or a hotel's account, and the job appears in the fleet's portal with origin, destination, time and amount; the fleet accepts it or lets it pass before committing, and on accepting it assigns it to one of its drivers and one of its vehicles, which the platform registered in the app with their documents and expiry dates. The driver carries it in the app, with navigation, status updates and the trip sheet generated before setting off, and sees only their own jobs; the fleet sees everything in progress and whatever still has no car. In Segovia what counts most is timing: the returns from Madrid day trips coincide in the late afternoon and the departures for Barajas, in the small hours.
What is not negotiable: the fixed price is what is charged, with no surcharge for a long weekend, for snow or for San Juan; the time is the one booked, with the published courtesy wait; and no fleet car waits at the Guiomar taxi rank or solicits beside the aqueduct, because every job is pre-booked and the pickup carries the customer's name and their train. A job accepted and handed back at the last minute strands someone who has already paid, and that does affect priority. The fleet neither works exclusively nor has to take everything: it is only asked not to accept a job if that car is already committed at that time. Guiomar connections carry the train number and the app follows delays.
How does the fleet get paid, and where is the commission published?
Directly, into its Stripe Connect account. The customer pays by card when booking, the amount lands in the fleet's account with the booking commission already separated in the same payment and from there it moves to the bank on the payout schedule the fleet sets in Stripe; the money is never in the platform's account waiting for a transfer. At the close of each fortnight the statement arrives with the job-by-job detail and the commission invoice, numbered and with its VAT, issued automatically: a deductible expense with paper for the accountant. The commission is published on the fleets page, lower if the fleet adopts the house fare and the published rate if it declares its own within a band; there is no joining fee or monthly charge, and a month with no jobs costs nothing.
Bidding is an option for jobs nobody covers. If the fleet switches it on, it leaves in the portal a pricing rule for its drivers, base, target and floor per concept, standing or by days and hours, within the published limits; while its drivers are online, the customer sees them as one more option, at that fixed price and only for pickups in the coming hours, and the fleet is paid the awarded amount with the usual commission. It can serve for a return from Madrid on a bank-holiday Sunday or for a car already in El Espinar, but nobody is obliged to bid and the customer never sees an open price. Ratings reach the portal in full; if a pattern repeats it is discussed before anything is touched.
What legal framework applies to a Segovia fleet that works so much towards Madrid?
Royal Decree-Law 13/2018 left the competence over VTC services within their territory with the regions, and the fleet's authorisations are registered in Castilla y León; the rules require most services to start or end in the region. In Segovia that fits naturally: a resident's transfer to Barajas or Chamartín leaves from the province, and the pickup of a visitor in Madrid for a day in Segovia ends in it. What does not fit is assigning cars to jobs that start and end in the Community of Madrid. Every job carries its trip sheet and its filing with the Ministry's register, generated before departure with the assigned vehicle and driver, and the document is there if an officer asks for it at the AP-61 toll or at Guiomar.
Winter weighs more than in any other province of the region: with snow, the Navacerrada pass and the Alto del León may require chains or close, the climb to San Rafael has fog and ice before dawn and the AP-6 tunnels are the safest way through, with their toll, which the customer sees in the price. Mountain jobs are confirmed the day before and, if a road is closed, the customer is told through the app. The rest of the calendar is set by long weekends and Easter, with the returns to Madrid in the late afternoon, the San Juan and San Pedro fiestas in late June in the capital, the Cuéllar bull runs in late August and the Pedraza candlelight concerts in July, with no public transport back. La Granja to Guiomar is 13 km.
What does the fleet software do, and what paperwork does joining require?
The fleet-management software tracks what the platform does not see: expiry dates for roadworthiness tests, insurance, authorisation and drivers' licences, expenses with their VAT, AP-61 and AP-6 tolls, maintenance, kilometres, claims, income from every platform the fleet works with and the split with each driver according to their agreement. It warns before anything expires and produces the month's result per car, which is what says whether the El Espinar car or the Cuéllar car pays off against keeping them all in the capital. It is included for partner fleets and those in the partners network; anyone not working with the platform can subscribe on its own, by the month, and anyone who prefers to keep their own customers and prices has the platform as a tool for a fee per licence per month, which is not yet on sale.
Joining is requested from the fleets page with the company name, tax number, number of authorisations and areas, the capital, the mountains, Cuéllar, the north-east or the whole province. Then come the paperwork and the agreement with the split and the scope, authorisations, vehicle records, passenger-cover insurance and tax standing certificate; the Stripe Connect onboarding from the fleet's record, which decides when it can start collecting; and the registration of drivers and vehicles in the app with their expiry dates. It starts with airport transfers, the most predictable ones, and widens according to punctuality and ratings. There is no lock-in and no non-compete clause: leaving means giving notice, and the statements and invoices remain in the portal.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth having a car in El Espinar or Cuéllar as well as in the capital?
It depends on what arrives from each area, which the portal shows, and on the result per car and month from the fleet software. El Espinar works towards Madrid with the AP-6 on its doorstep; Cuéllar, towards Guiomar, Valladolid and the General Hospital, 61 km away.
Can a fleet car pick up a customer in Madrid who is coming to Segovia?
Yes, with a booking: the job ends in the province and fits the rules, which require most jobs to start or end in Castilla y León. Madrid centre to Segovia is 91 km in the opposite direction.
Is the fleet paid into its own account or the platform's?
Its own, through Stripe Connect: the amount lands with the published commission separated in the same payment and moves to the bank on the schedule the fleet sets. The fortnightly statement with its commission invoice is the paperwork and the reconciliation.
How much is Segovia to Barajas, the typical long transfer?
108 km according to the route engine, with the AP-61 and AP-6 toll inside the price the customer sees.
Can a car wait at the Guiomar rank for the trains from Madrid?
No. A VTC collects only someone with a booking, with their train on the job; waiting at the rank or soliciting on the platform is prohibited. The app follows the train and the driver waits with the customer's name.

How we write, where the figures come from and how we correct an error: editorial policy.
The published commission, courtesy waiting time, settlement days and cancellation policy are the panel settings when the fleets page is opened. Kilometre, minute and price figures come from the route engine; the state of the passes and the AP-6 in winter is whatever the traffic authority publishes. None of this promises a volume of jobs.
